Signs of A Bad Trainer
When you open the door to the cab you get the smell of urine filling your nostrils. When you open the door to the cab you get the smell of pot filling your nostrils. The trainer smells like they haven’t had a bath in a week. You find bottles of urine about the cabin. You find clothes for the opposite sex of your trainer, in the trainer’s size. You find used condoms in the trash, and they say they recently got through with another student. They never call, when they say they will. The only hint that you have a trainer is banging on your door. They ‘borrow” your phone (their phone just doesn’t have the signal yours does), suddenly you and others in your address book get ‘strange” calls. Showers, bathroom and food stops happen only after persistent begging. Drives with major portions of their clothing missing. You know that you only drove a certain number of hours and stopped at a certain place but your logbook shows differently. They tell you to change what you have in your logbook, so they won’t get in trouble with their logbook. States "You have to run illegal if you want to make money." They don't care if you drive, they only need you as a lumper. They tell you how much YOU suck. "Wow, I can't believe they let you out of school. " Takes you, for no reason, through an area that is so dangerous that you need to have an armed escort. Makes illegal u-turns on highways and calls them "turn arounds". Has no problem in showing racial hatred or bigotry toward you or others in person, on phone or over the CB. Has two cell phones, one for their spouse...the other for the girl/boy friend. Warns you that they have an extensive collection of porn videos in the truck. Drives dangerously and aggressively- tailgating, speeding, cussing. (Road Rage) Uses abusive language toward you. Threatens to abandon you somewhere or to “make it so you can never get a job” for standing up to them. Tells you to run for everything, no matter what the weather conditions. Plays the CB and Radio at high volume all the time, even when you are trying to sleep or have a phone conversation. And when you ask them to turn it down, their reply is its my truck if you don’t like it get off.
